Rockstar Games has announced that the pre-download for GTA 6 will start on October 10. Players will need up to 212GB of free storage space, and settings adjustments may be necessary for automatic downloads.
Pre-Download Schedule
Rockstar Games has confirmed that the pre-download for GTA 6 will commence on October 10, at midnight local time for PS5 users. For Xbox Series X|S players, the download will begin at 00:00 GMT on the same day. This change moves the pre-download date up from October 12, giving players a head start ahead of the game’s official release on October 19.
Storage Requirements
Players should prepare for a significant download size, as up to 212GB of storage will be required, depending on the device. Rockstar has indicated that this requirement applies generally and does not differentiate between PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Automatic Download Settings
To ensure that the pre-download occurs automatically, players must adjust their device settings. For PS5, users need to enable automatic downloads and keep the console in rest mode. Xbox Series X|S users should turn on automatic updates while ensuring the console is either on or in sleep mode.
Additional Content on Release Day
On October 19, Rockstar will also release a digital cover art poster and a Leonida map for free on their official website. Furthermore, a physical version of the poster will be available for sale at the Rockstar Store or offered as a free gift with other purchases shortly after the game’s launch.
