Indie developer Concord has announced that its mystery action-adventure game 'Graytail' will be released in late 2027. The game features a detective and the pilot's daughter searching for a missing pilot in a 2.5D world, with a demo currently available on Steam.
'Graytail' Overview
Concord, a South Korean indie development team, revealed a new trailer for their upcoming game 'Graytail' during the ID Xbox Showcase on October 20. The game is scheduled for release in late 2027 and has been in development for approximately four years by a two-person team.
Game Features
In 'Graytail', players take on the role of a detective suffering from severe headaches, who, alongside the daughter of a missing pilot, embarks on a journey to uncover her whereabouts. Players will utilize a primary weapon—a cane—along with secondary weapons like an umbrella or frisbee. They will explore five distinct areas while solving puzzles by combining weapons and environmental objects. The recently released trailer highlights the game's 2.5D visual style and offers a glimpse of scenes from the third chapter under development.
Reception and Future Plans
Since its announcement, 'Graytail' has garnered significant interest, achieving over 50,000 wishlists on Steam. The available demo has received a 'very positive' rating of 98% from users. Concord plans to enhance the combat system and increase narrative and environmental density using the funding they have secured. As part of this, the existing demo will be taken down in November 2026, with a new demo featuring the revised combat system to be launched later.
Platforms and Funding
'Graytail' is set to launch on PC (Steam) and Xbox Series X/S, as well as Xbox PC, and will support Xbox Play Anywhere. Additional platforms will follow sequentially. Players can add the game to their Steam and Xbox Store wishlists. Furthermore, Concord has received development funding from Outer Sloth, an indie game fund associated with the creators of 'Among Us'. This funding allows them to maintain creative control while completing the game.
Co-founder Myung-Jin Shin expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with Outer Sloth, emphasizing the importance of gaining experience in launching their own game rather than simply seeking a publisher.
