Written with artificial intelligence.
Infinity Ward has revealed detailed information about DMZ, the extraction mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, set to enhance the gameplay experience significantly. This mode features a 70-level progression system, a forward operating base, and increased stakes for player characters.
Overview of DMZ
Infinity Ward has provided an in-depth look at DMZ, the extraction mode returning for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Originally introduced in 2022's Modern Warfare II, DMZ aims to capitalize on the growing popularity of extraction shooters, promising a more engaging and high-stakes gaming experience.
Key Features
DMZ will include:
- 70-Level Progression System: Players will level up their operator, which impacts gameplay.
- Forward Operating Base: This hub allows players to practice at a firing range, craft items from loot, and strategize for missions.
- Increased Stakes: If an operator dies, players will incur a cost to revive them, and valuable loot can be permanently lost.
Gameplay Mechanics
Infinity Ward aims to create a sense of constant danger within DMZ. Players will encounter various enemy types, including drones and tanks, and the threat level will adjust based on player actions. Stealthy gameplay can minimize conflict, while loud actions will attract more enemies.
Post-Launch Support
The team has committed to extensive post-launch support for DMZ, including map changes and seasonal dynamic weather to keep the gameplay fresh. DMZ will launch alongside Modern Warfare 4 on October 23, and unlike its predecessor, it will not be free-to-play.
